If I was your dad at the time, I definitely would have went in there and assaulted the principal. A spanking is one thing actually this is a paddling, but then there's also abuse. That's what this was in my opinion. I don't mind corporal punishment in schools because it does help kids to behave better, but you do not have to hit so hard that it takes well over a week for someone to heal. That is abuse. So I would have punched him.

I was a "Daddy's girl" so when he saw the bruises on my butt, he lost it. It took sometime for Momma to get him to calm down and not give in to what he wanted to do. If he had gone after the Assistant, he would have been arrested for assault. Defending your child and getting revenge are two different things entirely. Momma handled things the best way possible by taking me back to the school the next day and letting them know they went too far and then taking away their permission to paddle me or later on my brother and sister. By the end of the year, the Assistant Principal, "resigned" and was replaced. After I graduated high school the Jr. High Principal retired and a new Principal was hired. Before my oldest was born, that school district decided to abolish corporal punishment.
