Even male jeans would not have made that paddling reasonable, just, and non-abusive. Your Dad would have had no trouble with a jury trial should a prosecutor have been so corrupt as to bring charges against him. Your mom did the better thing, I agree. Still I sympathize with your Dad in wanting to give the AP whatever he thought the jerk deserved.

Honey, I agree with you. I saw way too many boys come out of his office crying and they were wearing jeans. I've seen pictures of the after effects some kids have had from teachers and administrators who had taken it too far. I cried when I saw those pictures remembering that paddling. Because my butt was as bruised as some of the worst ones they showed. A part of me wishes my Daddy had gone down there and tore him up. But you have to remember, I chose to cut class. I chose to take a paddling instead of detention as well. Also, whether Daddy would have won a court case or not, It wouldn't have change the fact that he would have been arrested for assault and win or lose, it would have wrecked our lives. The bruises healed, and I'm ok. So I know he was moved to another administrative position after that and I don't even think he works for the school system anymore. So he can't hurt any other kids. Also, my kids go to school in that district now, and they no longer use corporal punishment in that district. So that's one thing I don't have to worry about as a parent.
