For my folks it was always with some prep. A stool or a chair set up in the family room, pillows stacked at the end of my bed or even the couch pulled out from the wall. My mom always used a large paddle and my father always used a very heavy leather belt. If they were holding it in there hand and i was told to pull my pants down and bend over, it was going to be hard.
