Power steering makes a car feel light but they are, in reality, Heavy Equipment. And heavy equipment is what we are all forbidden to operate when we are impaired by meds or by various forms of being high. Sarah you are blessed to have had a Dad and now to have a guy who will encourage you firmly never to drive or use a tractor, etc. while texting.

Studies show that the distraction from texts destroys focus and pulls attention away from any thing else. I shared a hospital room with a very young man who lost both lower legs from a tractor rearing up. Some studies of the brain even show that multi-tasking never happens. At best we just switch from task to task, and leave the first to attend to the second. Cell phone designers know this and that that's why they make cell phones PING to get our attention back.

Thanks, Sarah for the answers to my scheduling questions. Some states are passing laws to help schools handle this cell phone distraction issue by requiring cell insulating containers to be used during school hours. The theory is emergencies can be handled by YOU and your Office helpers! Are you, Sarah -- School Secretary, down with this? More work for you, big time.
