Either of our parents would give a spanking, but during those teen years I think it was most often our father doing the deed. Our parents had a small leather strap- 8 inches long and about an inch and a half wide- which was the most common implement. Our mother was also known to use a clothes brush or a wooden spoon that was part of an otherwise decorative set that hung on the wall in the kitchen. There was also a hefty rectangular paddle our father would sometimes use after starting out with the strap.

Spankings were usually carried out in the over the knee/lap position. When the clothes brush or paddle was used my sisters usually had to bend over the back of a chair or bend down over the coffee table in the living room for those spankings. I also recall a few times when they had to bend over and touch toes for a spanking.
