The length of those spankings definitely varied a bit. I think for most part they were over with in a couple of minutes, but there were some that would drag on into the five or even ten minute territory due to the interruption of scolding or lecturing over the incident. Our parents didn't stop spanking when they were talking, but they did significantly slow the frequency of spanks during that part.

Our parents didn't establish a set amount of time or smacks for a spanking. I think it would be fair to say they spanked until they were satisfied. If I had to guess, I would say the average spanking resulted in somewhere between 20 and 30 smacks.
