The parents handled it themselves in turn, there was a social going on, some went right to it, others had no sense of urgency. There were kids who just had to sit there & weren't allowed to party.

Were you ever down there getting one yourself? If so what was the experience like? Were they ever bare or usually bare considering the public nature of the place? Could the spankings be heard from the bench?

I was about 11 years old & my friend Brian's family came & sat near us during the service & we both got into laughing fits despite being warned multiple times. My mom took me to the basement after the service, it was a large space with many folding chairs down a long dark wooden staircase that made it so you could hear people coming. I was waiting with my pants around my ankles when I saw a girl from my school headed to the other end, we made eye contact, but we never spoke about it to the other. You couldn't hear any swats from upstairs, just the occasional protests & yelps. It seemed bare was the order of the day.

So you and that girl who was from your school got it at the same time in the same room? That just have been a noisy experience.

I didn't count the house but it was more than just the two of us. There were cinderblock walls so a solid hit made a *ping* echo.
