Most scary was when a non-family member was in the house, or worse, when that person could hear the threat being made. If a spanking was to be, then it would happen regardless of who was around. I guess the least scary was when I was sure it was just a threat.
2- best (meaning most tolerable) position or worst position
Laying flat on the bed was less embarrassing than OTK, so that made it a little more tolerable. Not that I was thinking about that at the time.
3- best/ worst piece of furniture spanker sat on for Otk
On the edge of the bed was better than on a higher stool.
4- best/worst implement
Thinner, lighter plastic paddle stung badly but not so much residual discomfort. Sturdy and dense hardwood with more weight to it burned longer and left bullseyes for at least several days.
5- best/worst things they said while spanking you
Nothing was said during. Before a spanking, the worst things were confirmations that what we did was really bad, and after were any embarrassing comments about the spanking.
6- best/worst pre-spanking action, such as walking spanks
Worst, if anyone was around, was being physically taken to where the spanking was going to be given. Best action was when dad suddenly got called away to something more urgent.
7-best/worst post-spanking actions
Parents coming to check up on me later. Not sure if that was worst or best. Embarrassing, but it was also a time of forgiveness and closure.
8- best/worst things about a second spanking at bedtime
No one ever got more than one spanking in a day.
9- best/worst things mom said to friends and relatives about the spanking she gave you
Anything said was terrible, and mom seemed to enjoy talking about it. The worst was when any girls were around, and some details of the spanking were being revealed.
10- longest shortest times between spankings (other than the second spankings for the same offense)
Hard to remember as a younger child, but shortest was probably a week, maybe a few days on a rare occasion. At older ages, the shortest was about 6 months, the longest was well over a year. I guess, in our house, spanking actually worked as far as my parents judged things.
