So any spanking marks can be seen while wearing a swimsuit. Shorts for girls are also shorter so any marks on thighs can be seen too. Summers provided that spare time in the Devil's Workshop so many more spankings. In scouts we had access to a tidal pool with muddy water. So the buddy system was used even though most of us were in the shallow end. You had a short time to partner up with your buddy and raise hands together. If you didn't do it promptly enough, you got a canoe paddle lick! After the paddle swat you could move a bit toward the edge of the dock and dive or jump in. Both from being home from school, plus warm weather and holidays tended to bring out the boistrous/rebellious behaviour that led to getting smacked. Summer ones also hurt worse. Cause Dad (mostly) smacked pants up, cause we wear less or thinner clothes in summer, means less protection. Being hit across shorts naturally hurt worse than across pants. Couple that with the fact that we spent plenty of time in water (beach, backyard pool), and Dad had no issues with smacking me with only a pair of speedo briefs on. Those times hurt so bad!
