Forest of Shadows

Once a meeting place for those that loped the old Wolfways. The Forest of Shadows is now a shrine, dedicated to the memory of those that once called this land home.

Vagrant Dredwolf, formally a subordinate of the Natraviol-Tika Pack, former consort of the Bloodrain Pack and past resident of the Appalachian Province. Last to stand within the scarred territories of The Many. I am guilty of the following crimes:- Spreading deception and inciting to mutiny.

The 1999 Great-War between the opposing packs of Natraviol-Tika and Bloodrain set the stage for a chain of events that would eventually lead to the sporadic decimation of all known territories (neighboring and abroad). I witnessed firsthand, the assassination of my former alpha Natraviol, followed by the retaliatory strike against the one responsible for the killing.

The Golden River province already straining from the weight of civil unrest, eventually crumbled under the pressure of the growing anarchy. The death of the Bloodrain alpha (whose identity has been lost to time) fueled an insurgency that claimed the lives of combatants and non-combatants alike. Those who survived the initial conflict and ensuing melee, disbanded from their respective cliques leaving The Golden River territories empty.

Nine years later. I still remain tied to the memories of a past life, the remnants of which are mine alone. I�ve padded many of the old Wolfways seeking to find the fragments of a past devotion. However, nothing remains�save shadows and memories.

I am the last of a generation of RP�ers lost to the mists of time. Standing testimony to the events that took place within the borders of The Appalachian and Golden River provinces. From the endings of InsideTheWeb, the current desolation of VoyagerSys to the unknown and limitless boundaries of the future.

I remained behind, to watch over the Wolfways for the day they returned. Guardian of their memory�

In remembrance of:- Destiny-Star, Silver-Silence, Slate-Dreams, Nova, Natraviol, Tika, Flower, Briarpaw, Komit Fyre, Hielo and all those lost to memory.

*Watching as the Magyar finally came within view, he smiled* �I am not sure how old I am to be honest, after so long alone these things tend to loose meaning. But to answer your query I am nearing seven or eight winters�or there abouts�.

*Having given enough time for the Magyar to catch his breath he rose to his paws and continued* �I don�t know if guardian is right, I am here because I am here. If I could have gone with the others I would have. But lord Frith bid that I remain here, so as all those around me faded into obscurity I stayed behind, eagerly awaiting; hoping they would one day return�

*Looking around to see if the Magyar was okay he continued* �This forest of shadow is my first and only territory. Although I have been in a number of packs, all of which no longer exist. One day I may journey forth to another land, but for now I am content to run through these mists�

*Pausing momentarily to gather his bearing he padded onward* �Not too far now, a place where we can talk and howl. A place where we can bare witness to the truths I shall bestow upon you, wolf of the Magyar�

The two wolves came together.

Spirits kindred, warm hearts; solidarity a mutual feeling between the pair. The dark, shadowed walls of the clearing seemed to twist and swirl around the wolves. With searching eyes finally meeting; within an instant a lifetime of knowing flashed between the two. After a moment of easy silence the Magyar born spoke.

�Wulfs blessing be upon you, Bukovianite.� He bowed respectfully

�I humbly accept your request to parlay.� His friendly grin suddenly becoming stern and serious. �I identify myself. I run with the south western Magyar pack of Gr�vold Nathren original branch of the Heartland presence Voi�grathna�. His demeanor relaxing once more.

He continued �I heard your howl, wolf of mighty Bukov. Pray tell, what of the old lore do you currently hold within your heart?�
