I am not bashing merely stating facts. It seems every year lately the 1st RU gets the title the next year, it kind of takes the fun and mystic out of attending. Every one has already crowned Emma Terry- I am not bashing I love her - she is just sitting in that position. No fault of her own. By Friday night, we all know who the winner is. Just enjoy surprises to make things interesting. Why buy tickets when we know who Miss Alabama will be months before the competition.

Same person as above. I would be honored and and delighted to have Emma as our Miss Alabama. This isn't about her. It's about the surprise element seems making people wonder - why should we go. It's about mystique.

Don't count out any of the top 5 from last year. There are no guarantees the first runner up will be crowned. Not recently but In some years the first runner up has struggled to be in the top 5 the next year. Ibby, Abbie, Hannah and Emma will all be strong contenders as well as a few surprises along the way. I predict a very strong top 5.

Isn’t she a little young? Usually seniors or grad students win bc they have to leave school

In my many years of attending Miss Alabama, I can only remember about 4 times when it was a surprise. 1) Heather Whitestone who got the nod instead of Amie Beth. 2) Catherine Crosby who beat Deidre Downs one year 3) the year Ashley Davis won 4) Several others when Friday night before the show everybody knew.

Amanda Tapley won her first year of competing
When Meg won, she had not been in the top five the previous year.
Being first runner up doesn’t guarantee you’ll win the next!!!!

I was just over on the Miss UA board and after reading what CLEARLY was a bunch of bitter losers tear down that sweet girl I’m all in on MARISSA LUNA! If she’s causing that much chaos and getting attacked for basically not being who they “thought” should win , (and apparently she wasn’t in a sorority!?!??) , and just generally broke the robot pageant mold…my money is on her. Someone said above, maybe we’ll be surprised, well I’d keep my eye on that one! I just don’t think people are realizing the more you tear down a girl the more you’re making her the front runner. Just a thought!

Question - how can you NOT win a prelim and advance to Miss Alabama?

if the Winner steps down or is removed from holding the title - a runner up takes over which means they will go to Miss Alabama without technically "winning" a title.

Summer Waters- Miss Autauga County Fair was “appointed” the title.
Miss Wallace State-not sure of her name took over for Abby Daniels after she stepped down from the title.

I believe "festivals and fairs" have different rules and can appoint a titleholder if she has never been to the State competition before.

Where can I find a list of our 2024 Miss Alabama Candidates - preferably with their Competition Order. Miss Alabama website always says there is something wrong with the site and it is dangerous to go inside it.
Thank you to anyone can help me.
