Subject: Idiotic off-topic question

Are Blu-ray Discs playable on standard DVD disc drives on most computers, such as my Dell PC, or would I have to get a Blu-ray Disc drive/player/recorder just to play a movie that's apparently available only on Blu-ray Disc?

Thanks in advance for any helpful answers/responses.

No, a blue ray disc requires a blue ray drive, rather inexpensive these days....Amazon has both internal and external DVD players for under $50...easy to swap out internal drive.

OK, thank you. I very rarely buy movies on any video disc formats, so I can't even remember the last time the question came up.

We have never bought a blue-ray disk or player, but I believe that DEADHEAD is correct.
