To set an example to the others, Hannah, and to serve as a deterrent also, is why I would spank mine in front of others. The added benefit of childish embarrassment for the child/teen being publically spanked on his or her bare bottom, while dangling over my left knee, is sometimes no bad thing either.
That being said, however,the vast majority of my spankings are administered in the child's bedroom, in private. The spanking of its own should be sufficient punishment.
