This is a bit buried in Mary's thread. But since this seems to be your introductory post, I thought I would reply.

I am in the process of catching up with a lot of the threads as I haven't been able to post for a bit, but I wanted to welcome you to the group and say I have really enjoyed your postings.

You may have read some of my replies, but I am a married mother of 4 and grandmother of 6. All of my children are now grown. But I raised all four of them with spankings as their primary punishment. In this house, I spanked as a first resort. And much like with your family, it was only Mommy that gave the spankings. And really, it is still that way now with the grandchildren when they come visit (babysat). Grandma does all of the spanking when it is needed. Although only 3 of the grandkids are of spanking age.

I know some grandparents prefer to pass the torch and have their children (the parents) take care of all the discipline. And I completely respect that. But my girls spank as well, so I find being consistent with the rules, as well as consequences, are needed for the grandkids when they visit. So they are not treated any differently here than they are at home. Grandma does her share of spoiling, as any good grandmother should! But they also know Grandma will spank them if they don't behave.
