Jennifer,

I began using an implement at a younger age than everyone here. Originally following what Mom did with my sisters and I. But I also do feel it really it is much more beneficial for them, making the spankings all the more effective.

But I started using the wooden spoon with mine in that area of around 5 yrs old, or a little before. And around 7-8 (depending on the child), I switched over to the hairbrush, which I used up until their last spankings.

And it's the same procedure I still use now with children under my care, including my grandchildren. My 6 yr old grandson is currently spanked with my hand and wooden spoon. Much like his Mommy (my oldest daughter) spanks him at home.
