I too have noticed my son has always clenched his bottom off and on and my daughter really doesn't. My son also wiggles around a lot more on my lap. Seemingly trying to find the right spot for relief. I know it doesnt help but hes never stopped in all the years (hes 14 now.) I cant say I know why. When my son clenches, sometimes I spank over it, maybe a little lower on his cheeks, and sometimes I will give him a pat or two, or a slight rub, and remind him I have time so he should relax and accept what is happening. I like what Cordelia said. Sometimes there are opportunities to win small victories and gain obedience. I know how important that can be overall.
