Mark,

Table manners are important, with my 3 boys it has been somewhat like with Mary and her's. But I have also had to spank for the same reason you spanked your 16yo, my oldest did the same last year at 14, swearing. I handled it the same way as Mary taking him to the living room. I always spank in the living room while sitting on an armless chair.

I have also spanked for other reasons while we have been at the table.
