I sure was! I'm probably at least a 5th generation spanking mom, haha! My mom and dad had no problem using corporal punishment on my brothers and I. Back in those days it was very common for the switch to be used. I'll never forget having to go out into the backyard and having to cut a few for my bare bottom to get whipped with! It felt like spankings were a far more regular occurrence back in those days. I remember seeing, friends, cousins, and neighbors all spanked by hand, with brushes, spoons, sandals, paddles, switches, extension cords, paddles, leather belts, razor straps, you name it. If only our kids knew!
