And 14 is still just a boy especially one who acts like a little braccio. My Joseph is a new 15 yo and can be more like 12. He has his since always had troubles with bedtimes and has had his share of spankings because of it.

I have found with my boy he wants to push his boundaries thinking he is grown up but when he can't get his way he will be like little boys having a tantrum when he gets in a tantrum mood stomping his feet and also 'slamming his door' I say to myself he is asking for a spanking and gladly give him what he needs. Teaching them a good lesson.
