Hi Cory,

When my boys were real young warning seats could produce crying and tears, but typically not in the older years. The warning swats are typically so quick and only a couple or few of them that it is not enough to make them cry. I would call them real good attention getters and a firm reminder that a real spanking is very near if changes in behavior or attitude are not made immediately. The swats do sting, but not like a real spanking.
