My husband and I tried to give spankings as similarly as possible. We were always in agreement that spankings should be given in private, and when one was earned we sent our girls to their bedroom a few minutes beforehand.

Both of our girls(who are now well past spanking age) have in their bedrooms nice wood desks with matching straight backed chairs. While there were a few times I sat on the corner of their bed before taking them over my knees, I preferred the desk chairs.

After going to the room where the naughty one was waiting, we always closed the door. I pulled the chair to the middle of the room and sat down with them standing facing me (same if I sat on their bed). A few minutes of reproof/lecture came to be certain they knew why we decided a spanking was needed, and then it was time to get the bottom bare and go over for the lesson to be learned.
