Hi Jennifer, yeah it is a little different with boys and girls but we are in a similair boat. My sisters daughter wanted to wear thongs when she was 14-15 and it was a hard no. Persoanlly, I feel girls shouldn't wear thongs but that is your choice. As a boy mom, I don't have that situation but wish you the best of luck.
