The short answer is it depends on the kid, age etc.

As I've stated before the two little grandkids I sit regularly (Jeff & Lianne) leave their clothes on the floor and go to their rooms and take a little bare bottoms up nap. I really should train them to at least pick up their clothes on the way up, but I like bottoms up nap and if they picked up their clothes who knows they might put them on and that wouldn't be as good, so I prefer what they do now so I've left it alone.

I take their clothes up later when I check on them and take a nice long view.

Their uncle (my son) used to do the same thing that they do. My daughter would pick up her clothes and take them up with her but not put them on. She would lie down too but she'd cover up (put a sheet over her) most of the time. One exception to this is if it was super hot in the house then I might see a bare one, not that often though.

When my brother and I were the spankees we'd bolt up the stairs and leave our clothes in a heap on the floor. My brother didn't cover up much, with me it really depended on the weather and temperature in the house. If it was winter I'd generally get under the covers, summer I'd just lie down bare bottom up and let it all hang out. Now that is presuming it's just the regular family around.

If there was extended family around or friends around the house I would definitely cover up.

I think the not redressing thing is pretty normal. I mean you're bare anyway and everyone has seen everything so it's like what's the point in dressing, plus you don't want to put tight clothes over a sore red bum.

I also think that the bare bottom up lie down leads to mom coming in and giving a little love, pats, rub, attention and sympathy. If the child/children like that routine they will do the same all the time. To be honest, Megan as mom/grandma prefers it that way myself.
