I have given what I would call very solid swats in restaurant restrooms, but typically have taken my kids to the car or home for very serious spankings, when needed.

This does remind me of a very vivid memory of something that I saw and heard about six years or so ago in a restaurant. My boys and I were at a Fire Mountain restaurant (I think out of business now) in Tennessee and sitting near the restrooms. I witnessed a mom who looked like she was on a serious mission toward the restrooms, with her son in tow who appeared to be about eight or nine years old. They went into the ladies restroom. It was clear the boy was in trouble, so I was curious what we would hear.

About two or three minutes later there was the unmistakable sound of bare hand to bare bottom. It really sounded like the boys mom was not holding back or concerned that it was a public area. I heard many dozens of slaps and the boy crying. My boys heard it as well and got very quiet. They knew what was going on.

About five or ten minutes later mom and son emerged from the restroom. I could not help but glance at the boy, knowing that he had a very red bottom under his slacks. I smiled knowing that was a mom who did not hesitate to correct naughty behavior.

It might be the part of the country, but that mom did not seem concerned at all about what people saw, heard or thought. A non-nonsense mom!
