That spanking was well deserved, but don't fool yourself in thinking that because he is 16, that he should be well on his way of almost earning his last spanking. Much like Mary with her Donny and Scott, my son Jason was still being put over my knee often enough at 16 yrs old. He solidly earned one once a month, and sometimes even two.

He did improve a great deal when he reached a senior in high school, it was very much a wake-up call for him. But boys are still just that, boys, in their mid, and even sometimes late, teens and their behavior can still earn consistent spankings.

Welcome to the hairbrush club! Like Amanda, I would be curious on your thoughts of the hairbrush, comfort aside, how well you felt it worked with your son? It certainly sounds like your son from the very beginning did 'not' want the hairbrush used with his desperate pleading. So that right there lets me know it is something you should seriously think about making a permanent change.

But I can also relate on the comfort. If you are serious on making the switch, then definitely look for one that fits your hand more comfortably. The upgraded to the brush I use now about 15 years ago and so glad I did as it has a longer handle and makes it much more comfortable to hold. Where my previous brush certainly did the job well enough (and the children hated it plenty!), like you, I did sometimes get some slight cramping in my hand because, as you know, I do like to give longer spankings. And particularly when I would need to give a more serious (even longer) spanking.

But I haven't have any issues with this one and have been very pleased with it. The children, I can't say feel the same way!
