Do you all ever just have a gut feeling that you'll be spanking a naughty bottom soon?

Yesterday in the couple hours after I got Nicholas from school I just had this instinctive feeling like "I think he's going to earn a spanking for something soon". I couldn't put my finger on why exactly. He wasn't doing anything obviously naughty.

Of course I would never spank without any misbehavior. Had he behaved well throughout the evening he would have gone to bed with an unspanked bottom.

However, when I told Nicholas it was time to go upstairs and get ready for bed, he decided to whine about the part of the TV show he was in the middle of. I gave one more chance saying, "I know, but the show will be on another time, and I told you to go upstairs, so let's go."

Then Nicholas said under his breath "this is dumb" (which ironically was not the smartest thing of him to say). I've been trying to be much more consistent about just giving one warning so that the things I say will be taken seriously, so I decided that was it.

I said calmly but firmly "Since you won't listen after ive told you twice and added a disrespectful comment, you're getting a spanking".

I'm skipping some of the story, but Nicholas got a good sound spanking with my hand before I started with my brush. Suffice to say he won't be arguing about getting ready for bed again anytime soon.

After I finished spanking, I held him in my lap while I rubbed his bottom for him. When he calmed down, I gave him a couple pats on the behind and said "let's get you ready for bed". I got his pajamas out and helped him into them. He of course does not need my help putting pj's on, but it was a maternal instinct I guess to do this after I just spanked. I told him to go brush his teeth and that I'd come check on him in a few minutes and that "I better see a well spanked boy under his covers". Of course he did not give me any trouble.
