The pre-spanking bottom rub for Matthew is a lovely and peculiarly unique interaction between mother and son, I think. My wife does the same, but only when spanking the boys.

A sound bare bottom spanking with your hand and hairbrush. Love it that you check your son's bottom the next morning and give it another maternal rub. No doubt that bottom rub from Mom is appreciated much more than the pre-spanking one!
