I, too, would have given you a hug at the park had I been there and saw how distressed you were. Your internal Mama Bear came out, and appropriately so. That was super scary. Sometimes, when faced with life-threatening situations our reasoning-brains get overridden by nature’s instinct for survival and in your case pulling down those boys’ pants and spanking their bare butts was absolutely understandable. Spanking the boys until they were bawling and red as apples, and doing it right out in the open for everyone to see was not inappropriate in any way.

It sounds like after your son took his bath, he sat in his room for a while, possibly in just his bath towel knowing that it would be removed as soon as you met him there. Putting his underpants on would have been a waste of time. I’m sorry you got distracted from spanking the boy because you had to retrieve your shoes, but I’m glad your son got a good, hard, Daddy spanking. Now, your son knows that if he ever does something as stupid as that again, his bare bottom will get a belt licking that he will remember for the rest of his life.

I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I’m glad that your husband stepped in and did his fatherly duty.
