I am in agreement with you that spankings are best administered over the knee (I bend the kids over my left knee while you lay them across your lap). It is certainly best for hand spankings, but also the intimacy of the skin to skin contact (if spanking on my bare knee), and getting a close-range view of the boy or girl’s bare bottom is certainly a benefit, especially while it is getting redder and redder and redder. Long handled implements like bathbrushes don’t work well for over the knee spankings. A wooden hairbrush with a smaller and more manageable handle is best.

The boys won’t ever hide their mother’s spanking brush ever again. A message was sent loud and clear that foolishness like that doubles the pain.

I bet you gave your boys some whoppers when you discovered they had hidden the soap containers. Sometimes the rules need to be made extremely clear.
