With my boys I didn't and don't just go by their grades but the effort they put in, or don’t put in. Donny was basically a C student with the occasional B or D, he had to work hard for that C as school was and is hard for him but I told him I'm ok with the C as long as he is doing his best.

Scott was and is a brain and school is easy for him he is an A-B student, but he could get lazy too and I would spank for that. Donny's best subject has been math that's where he got his occasional B and he gets so happy about that. Bobby hated school with a passion, it was a constant struggle with him in grade school as is now with his online classes.

Homework for my boys was done after a snack when they get home and its the same now when I pick the boys up that I am sitting for, I would check their packs to see what had/has to be done and what is done, they have all been spanked for various reasons concerning homework, laziness with school work, messy work and not caring, arguing about having to do it, lying to me that the didn't have homework.

If they got a good report card or good report from a parent-teachers conference then they got a little extra in their next allowance.
