Some time has elapsed since then. Curious, what did you end-up doing as far as a consequence, if anything?

At that age she's probably striving for independence and senses "adulthood" is around the corner. But the fact she told you what she was going to do tells me she already had it in her head she can do that without seeking permission. She needs to understand that while she is still under your roof, even at 18 yet, you are the authority, etc. She definitely needs a consequence and backing the discussion up with a good spanking would seem the right thing to do.
