The spankings were a good way for me to let the kids know that I was now a full fledged parent and that they need to respect me just like they respect their mom and dad. Not that they haven't been respecting me already, but now there's a little more motivation. It seemed to work. Today Levi and Bailey acted if there was nothing unexpected about me spanking them. I think they have been viewing me a parent for a while now and getting spanked by me may have actually bonded them to me more strongly.

The first time you spanked, I assume you were serving as a baby sitter. Did you spank them bare? With your hand?
