My boys, Brian is 10 and James is 8 and I can certainly relate to this. Ryan knew your rules, that was easy to see since you have spanked him for this in the past. But I understand this way with boys as I have spanked both boys for the same behavior dozens of times each.

My daughter is 13 there have been a few times when she went in to use the bathroom and found it just like you did with Ryan and I heard her "Mom come to the bathroom!" and I knew what it was.

Needless to say these video games (computer, playstation and Nintendo switch) problems have been going on here with my boys as well. I even asked them why play your games when you know you will at some point be spanked. Their answer, " because we love playin our games." They also always tell me "that's the last time you will have to spank me for that" I just smile.
