I started spanking my daughter when she was just about to turn 3. In the beginning, I used to spank with my hand only on her bare bottom. I introduced implements at a much earlier age. When she turned 7, I started using a wooden spoon in addition to hand spanking. So, most of the spanking was still with my hand but I always finished up with some stinging smacks of the spoon. And right before she turned 10, I bought a lexan paddle and informed her that she will be punished for all misbehaviours with that paddle after her 10th birthday. Since she is a very tall girl in her age group, I can't apply the implement properly while she is over my lap. So, what I do is I always give her a warm up hand spanking over my lap and then I ask her to kneel on the sofa or a chair while her upper body is resting on the backrest and then I apply the lexan paddle.

Jennifer, when you spank your daughters, do you use the paddle while they are OTK or in some other position?
