I do not use grounding or taking things away for a few reasons, because I feel they are not effective and I would be having a house full of unhappy to angry people <the one or ones grounded, and those of us having to live with them, also it would just draw their punishment out and they would have bitter feelings. Besides as others have said spankings are relatively quick and after corner time we move on with our day or night.

My daughter now 20 and hasn't been spanked for sometime now when she was 15 thanked me for the way I punish her, that she was grateful that I spanked her instead of grounding, she said spankings work and then its over. We have had some fun and interesting talks about spankings from the past, hers and her younger brothers. She has also told me she is going to be a spanking mom like am. And has become a spanking sitter for her youngest brother.

If my boys would be given a choice, to choose grounding over a spanking, then I’m sure in the spur of the moment they would choose grounding but then make life miserable and I would end up spanking them. But I would never give them that choice, I decide how my 3 were and are punished and it will always be a spanking as it is quick (they would disagree) and then its over.
