As it has been said, spanking the child over the lap is the time honored position, it is how we were spanked and how my parents were spanked.

Coming to this forum 5 years ago now (wow how time flew by) I was wondering with my two teenage boys how effectively I would be able to spank them in the future, spanking them over lap. I knew I wanted to keep spanking but would they even cry when older. When I read how Sarah spanked her 19 year old son when he was less than a month from turning 20 and he cried and reacted as a young boy and she spanked him over her lap, bare. She gave me the confidence I needed, and I have and will continue to spank this way.

And just as with Sarah and her son. With my older son I was able to control and spank him over my lap which to me is the only position to use when spanking, no matter what age. What I did with him starting back in the summer of 2020 when I spanked him, I learned on this forum, I would sit back enough on his bed or couch and have him get his hips over my lap with his upper body and legs supported on either side by his bed or the couch that way I was able to handle Aaron well enough over my lap while I spanked with my hand, but there were a few times I had to move forward dropping his legs down locking my right leg over both of his when spanking with my brush as he would be kicking wildly. He turned 21 last month and was last spanked in March of 2022 at 19 years old.

With me, how I spanked Aaron up until what I just explained and still do with Steven at 18 as well as my nephews and nieces over my lap it is pretty much the same as with Mary. I sit legs opened just enough, turned to the left just enough so that he is face down with the couch or his bed underneath him. Pulled forward as well, pinning his right arm to his lower back with my left forearm pressed against their back, I have no real trouble with controlling Steven he still fits nicely over my lap with his upper body supported by the couch or bed.

Also, I am with Mary, giving standing swats is not a spanking, a true thorough spanking could never be administered to someone while they are standing.
