Originally my mom never considered grounding. I was always spanked on the bare. I had to cooperate with my spanking or I would get spanked longer and harder. Normally they started as hand spankings but would escalate to brush, paddle, spoon, or belt. When I hit about 15 I got a good hand spanking for reasons I don't remember but apparently my mom thought that one was not effective so she went to grounding for awhile. As much as I hated to be spanked I would of prefered she would of spanked me rather than grounding because I felt grounding was never really a punishment. Even though I felt she should of went back to spankings I was too afraid to ask. However that did not take too long to change on it own. When I was 16 I got in an accident with her car and lied about how it happened. When she found out the truth she was soo mad. After some deep yelling and discussion we actually both agreed I should be punished. I still needed to drive so it was agreed I would be spanked. And man did I get spanked long and hard. I can give the details later if anyone wants. But my butt was bright red and sore for days. After that she continued spanking again. Eventually like other I actually thank her for being loving enough to spank me.
