Anyone else notice the effectiveness of spankings in the culprit's eyes?

In my huge extended family spankings were routine so I've suffered/seen/given/watched 100 spankings over the years.
I've always paid attention to a girl or boy's expression when they get spanked. Even as a young teen I'd always watch my siblings/cousins' faces while they got spanked.
Just like their bare bottoms change rapidly - bouncing reddening - their eyes show their shame fear discomfort and agony.
A girl/boy being told they are in for a spanking makes their eyes get really big in shock -wide open pleading "no no."
Faces turn red and when pantes/underpants come down and they start to blink out tears.
Nervous eyes flash back and forth, glancing in distress at any witnesses but I remember doing that and not really "seeing" much - just a blur of people through my tears.

The first spanks can be different. Some clench their eyes shut tight at the sting, other's eyes pop WIDE open, or even blink rapidly while panting.
I could see their tears spurtng and eye sockets getting red - those "red crying eyes" last quite a while, no?

A sibling or cousin would lurch up, staring at the ceiling while they wailed and then tossed their heads side to side, like they were looking all around for a way to escape the horrid burning spanking.
Total panic eyes, desperate in agony. I know I looked like that when my bare bottom was on fire. But I never really "saw" anything. I knew when people were watching but I couldn't focus on them or anything during my wild-eyed wailing.

And watching my kids do their spankings dances, their eyes darting around blankly, no notice of me or anyone, just staring off into the distance, dancing and rubbing burning bare buns.

It's in the eyes.
