My boys are 12 and 15. I agree with what ‘Sarah’ said a while back and I never forgot it, "when they get to be old enough it becomes much more embarrassing to have their bottom bared and have to go over Mom's knee for a spanking". It is so cute as they both since 11 try to hide their bare bottom from me when they go over my lap by hanging it off the side of my right thigh, while smiling I pull them forward into position, also taking my time "adjusting his bottom until it was just so - high, pert and begging to be spanked." Once over my lap and in place I get their body under control before I spank because the two of them are also vigorous kickers when I spank with my spoon they go into a complete frenzy and lose their ability to control themselves, bucking and bouncing wildly over my lap and trying as others have said to press themselves into my lap and wiggle side to side. When the bucking takes place I will time the spanks with my spoon to hit when their bottom is at its highest point and then while on my lap. It’s a reflex action as they don't know what they are doing. That is what I need to see.

At the start I spank at a brisk pace with my hand not raising my hand high but going for speed here, not 'hard' but stinging hand spanks, I spank mostly the meaty portion with my hand, the high point of the bottom, I don’t have ‘good size’ hands and their bottoms are growing especially with my oldest, and they do ‘clench’ often. So the majority of their spankings are with the spoon.

I make sure I spank the entirety of the bottom making sure each cheek down past where their bottom meets the thigh is well spanked. I don’t spank very hard with the spoon but my boys would disagree, but plenty hard enough, and not fast as with my hand I don’t raise it all that high, my spoon is very good for even coverage all over as I go by the ovals it leaves, it is also perfect for spanking the sit spots right where the bottom and thigh meet.

Then when I am finished spanking and the boy or boys do their little dance routine I put the spoon away, then sit on the couch for cuddling. Afterwards I put the chair back.
