That was a spanking well deserved for your nephew and especially the one for your son skipping school a few weeks ago. Well, now being over a month ago.

I agree wholeheartedly with Cherie it was a spanking that was long overdue for your nephew. His bad attitude and disrespectful most definitely showed that, but when I saw that your sister told you it had been almost 3 months, I thought immediately there were likely already instances in that time where he probably earned at least one or two more spankings. I can tell you with my son, and now with Andy (the boy I watch at a week or two at a time), when they were 15, they didn't go more than a few weeks without having to go over my lap. And having to spank a couple of times a month wasn't out of the ordinary.

And count me as another Mom who has no issues spanking in front of others if the children find the need to act up in front of them. I have never been a Mom (and now Grandmother) to take them to another room to spank. I am Mary's friend Sarah, that she makes reference to in her response. My children are all grown now, but I spanked all of them in front of others on many occasions. And I still do with children that I spank. My grandchildren or other children that I babysit.

It isn't something I go out of my way for. Like Mary, I have spanked upstairs in private (bedrooms, bathroom) if that is where they misbehave. However, spankings have happened much more frequently downstairs in a public setting, most often the living room, as that is usually where their misbehavior has taken place. Like your son, they have often pleaded for me not to spank them in front of ________. But much like Mary, I tell them if you don't want to be spanked where others can see (or hear), then you need to behave.
