I'm in a writing mood, so I thought I'd share what's going on for us today.

Nicholas went to a friend's house on Sunday for most of the day. When I picked him up, I asked what they did, how it went, if he was well behaved, etc. All seemed fine and typical.

I was in a rush when I picked him up on Sunday, so I didn't have a chance to talk with his friend's mom. I caught up with her this morning though. She mentioned that she had to scold both of them for coming back from the park 20 minutes late. She mentioned this casually and was of course not still cross about it. I happen to know that she doesn't spank, but that's her prerogative.

One issue here is that Nicholas didn't follow instructions. He knows that how he behaves at someone else's house matters to me (maybe even more). This alone is plenty reason to warm up that bubble bottom.

I'm inclined to consider it dishonesty that he didn't tell me already. It's possible he will say he "forgot", but I doubt this is the case. I have warned him that I may use mouth soaping in the future after getting good advice. I think this may qualify for a mouth soaping. I'll hear what he has to say though.

One other issue - some of you may recall I spanked Nicholas for this same behavior a few weeks ago. He wasn't at a friend's house, but the staying out beyond the agreed upon time is exactly the same.

Anyway, I just felt like sharing what's going on. I'd welcome any and all thoughts you all have.
