As you all know by now, I was 100% hand until Jack was 8 and then 100% hairbrush after that.

I was better hairbrush spanker than hand spanker because I liked the way I didn't have to make an effort to spank hard with the brush. I could be calm and in control, while my little prince did all the work kicking and bawling across my lap.

I also learnt that what worked best with Jack was a well walloped bottom followed by lots of love and reassurance, so I felt the hairbrush was a better choice than my hand past 8 years old.
