Good for you, it has been the same way here, I wouldn't say you are too strict but consistent with your rules and why you spank. It is up to them to not need us to spank them.

Consistency is so important. We need to make sure to be consistent with how and why we spank, keeping that consistency is the key, which includes continuing to spank when needed, if we are not consistent it sends confusing messages to the children.

I am consistent with my rules and have been since day one. I do not spank for every little thing, even though I am strict I am also fair. I have rules, my boys and those under my care know what they are and when they break them or they cross a line then I spank. Spanking is also my only form of punishment, if punishment is needed, I spank.

I can't speak for all 13 and 14 year olds but will speak to it from my experiences. I would say at 13 they were being spanked 4-5 times a month. By 14 they were still spanked quite often but they were getting to be less.
