Nodding a reassurance about Kree - she has Massath to help her, after all - R'ven pauses and tilts his head curiously at the giggle. M'telle's comment about talking to himself perturbs him for a moment, but not long enough for it to show on his face, and he shrugs in dismissal. Athena shifts restlessly on her perch, a bit more expressive, then tightens her grip on his braid and nuzzles her neck. Smiling, he reaches back and pats her soothingly. It's not like he should be surprised by it, and the young bluerider hadn't really meant any harm. If he got his hackles up every time somebody made a careless comment, the greenrider wouldn't be able to get along with anyone. Smiling to reassure the younger man that he hasn't stuck his foot too far into his mouth, R'ven reclaims his scrap of hide and replies with a quick scribble. They'll probably think you're talking to your dragon. The Weyrfolk have generally learned not to look askance at someone who seems to be talking to themselves.
