Hi! Nice to hear from you.
They're all going into summer holidays now, school results have been satisfying. We're packing for a trip to an alpine lake next week. We have had a couple really hot summer days with the pavement baking in the sun, too hot for me so I wear my sandals but I admire the heat resistance of all three children who go barefoot always and everywhere, only wearing shorts and T-shirts (the girl often with just a minimal, bare-midriff top, the boys shirtless at times).
Their soles all have lovely smooth leather pads, stained dark even after scrubbing. My daughter has the highest arches of the three so they stand out bright and pale against her dark balls and heels.
During the hottest days some neighbourhood kids are barefoot as well. Now as we're having some rainy days (the garden needs it) they point out it's much easier with wet feet than wet shoes, but strangely it's much rarer to see anybody barefoot then.
I hope everybody else is having a good time as well!
