Thank you for the link. I can confirm that Rita has quite healthy brain and body development. From our own experience I would add that it's useful to let children of that age go barefoot everywhere without exception, so they don't have to change between barefoot and shod modes, but can stay in practice walking barefoot as much as possible every day.

She's now three and in just a few years has progressed from a new-born to an experienced barefoot walker: She knows where to step so she won't get injured, she is confident but not foolish and I don't have any concerns as I take her barefoot anywhere, no matter whether she has been there before or not. Now in summer I see many barefoot children of her age pushed around in buggies but their parents often put shoes or sandals on them as they get up to walk on their own, that's not really necessary. She's not even in kindergarten yet and already better at barefoot walking than many shoe-wearers will become in their life ...
Winter can indeed set a limit, we've limited her barefoot time outside to a few minutes when it's snowy and icy. When it's dry and the ground is warmed by the sun she's doing fine even in winter, of course wrapped up warmly from ankles up with only her bare feet peeking out.
And I don't think her barefoot habit will change as she grows to four and older.
