I guess I'm a bit ticklish but on my feet I can tolerate it ...
As a young girl I was barefoot in summer, in the garden and nearby meadows, climbing trees, around the neighbourhood, sometimes to town. I rediscovered this as I helped my daughter learn to walk, she never liked to have anything on her feet and so I decided to keep her barefoot as she learned to walk inside and outside. To feel the same things and make sure there's nothing dangerous or unpleasant, the ground doesn't get too hot etc. I walked barefoot with her. For myself I think barefoot is for summer, though my daughter loves to continue until it's freezing, so I made her wool legwarmers to wear under her pants and when we go to town I wear shoes and she doesn't.
