Excellent! This seems to be a growing trend for natural/minimalistic parenting - I know I've read several articles promoting barefoot living and giving to charity. Our feet are really no different from forest dwelling bears and wolves, and severing our addiction and dependence on footwear altogether is very natural and liberating.
Did you reward them for choosing to donate their shoes?
