Hi Sandra and all!

I'm sure your kids are as happy as mine!
It's fun to hear what they say ... commenting if it's soft, wet, squishy, sandy, or even unexpectedly warm after a sunny day. It's a whole world of sensation that we have opened, and the kids are enthusiastic about it!
"I'm going to wear my feet with this!" I guess that's a nice way to put it.

Once our boy has cut his toe a little when playing. We disinfected it and put a band-aid on, I just reassured that it would heal quickly (which it did, everything was fine after a day). Didn't stop him from going barefoot. I think both of the kids learned to walk more cautiously, they used to wear out their shoes quickly, now their feet are getting better with use. Plus we aren't falling over dirty socks and shoes all over the place. So much easier to rinse the sand and mud off bare feet after playing outside.

It's now cooling down some and getting chilly in the morning. We recently bought new jeans for our kids since they have grown out of last year's pants. The girl is aware of her style: "Does this look good with my feet?" (Yes, definitely! A young boy's or girl's bare toes look so cute with any outfit!)

We've talked about buying shoes but didn't go for the usual autumn shoe shopping yet, still looking for minimal shoes that won't be too stiff but still offer some warmth and protection when it's frosty and full of ice, salt and grit ... I'm certainly not forcing my kids into shoes, just going to offer an alternative should the weather make it unpleasant to go out barefoot. We will see when that is.
