Sometimes it's enough when parents aren't in the way of their child's natural development but discover and support the way in which they are naturally going.
It's also lovely how a little girl can entertain herself, she doesn't get bored or annoyed but has so much fun discovering her world.
Though it was my idea to let her go barefoot as long as she can, it's not something I made her do, it's just her natural state and I feel it would be unnatural to put shoes on her.
It was also my idea to walk barefoot along with her and discover all the different surfaces of city and nature together.
As a child I was barefoot only at home, when walking in the street my mother was too afraid that I might get hurt. I remembered that when we were recently visiting my mother, both of us were barefoot which surprised her so I explained it's our way to discover our world (and in a way it's another wonderful childhood for me too). Mom is skeptical but the result speaks for itself, my daughter's feet are strong, healthy and undamaged, she's an all happy girl herself.
Parents inspire their children every day but I also love to get myself inspired, such as when Rita discovers something such as a leaf, a flower, a bug. Actually it was her who inspired me to walk outside barefoot every day and focus on what I'm feeling with my soles. Wiggling our grass together in the grass, a simple pleasure of life but so delightful!
Too many adults are consumed by their personal worries and can't open themselves to new experiences. In a way we can learn a lot from our children.
